Wheat Halwa Recipe




Ingredients:

• 1 Cup Samba Wheat
• 1 Cup Ghee
• 3 Cups Sugar
• 1 tsp elaichi powder
• 75gms Cashews
• 1/2 tsp Halwa Powder

Method:
• Heat 2tsp Ghee in a pan and roast the cashews.
• Soak the wheat in water overnight.
• Grind the soaked wheat into a fine paste.
• Put the paste in a white cloth and collect the water out of it. Grind the paste in the cloth again and collect the water out of it.
• Repeat the step for 4-5 times.
• Keep aside the collected water for a while. the water seperates out. Filter the water to get a think paste.
• Mix the Halwa powder.
• In a hot pan, add the sugar with some water and leave it to boil.
• Take a teaspoon of the syrup, hold the syrup with the thumb and forefinger and drag it. The right consistency is to get a strong thin string out of the syrup.
• Add the white thick wheat paste.
• When cooked, add the ghee in small portions and keep mixing.
• In low flame, keep mixing continuously until the ghee seperates out and it doesn't stick into the pan or hand.
• Remove from heat, spread in a greased plate. Garnish with cashews and elaichi powder. • Wheat Halwa is ready to cut and serve.
