Tomato Pappu Recipe




Ingredients:

• 1/2 Cup Toor dal
• 2 chopped Tomato
• 1 Onion chopped
• 5 Green chillies
• 1/4 tsp Chilli powder
• 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
• Mustard seeds
• Methi seeds
• Cumin seeds
• few Curry leaves
• pinch of Asafoetida
• Salt to taste
• half lemon size Tamarind

Method:
• Cover and cook Toor dal with 3 Cups of water • Add chopped onions, tomatoes, green chillies, chilli powder, turmeric powder and tamarind.
• Cover and cook till everything is cooked well. Remove from flame.
• Heat Oil in a pan, add mustard seeds. When they splutter add cumin seeds, curry leaves, asafoetida.
• Add them to the dal mixture. Add Salt and mix well.
• Tomato pappu is ready to serve.
