Thenga Thuvayal Recipe




Ingredients:

• 1 Cup shredded Coconut
• 1 small lemon size Tamarind
• Salt to taste
• Mustard seeds
• Urad Dal
• few Curry leaves
• pinch of Asafoetida
• 4 Red Chillies
• Oil

Method:
• Heat Oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds. When they splutter add urad dal curry leaves, asafoetida, red chillies, tamarind, coconut.
• When coconut turns light brown, remove from heat. Allow it to cool.
• Grind it to a fine thick paste with salt and very little water.
• Thenga Thuvayal is ready to eat with Egg Dosa, Dosa, Idli.
