Malabar Fish Curry Recipe




Ingredients:

• 1/4 kg Fish pieces
• 1 1/2 Cup grated coconut
• 3 Green chillies
• 1 1 inch piece Ginger
• 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
• 1 1/2 tsp Chilli powder
• lemon sized Tamarind
• 4 Small Onions
• Mustard seeds
• Salt to taste
• Coconut oil
• few Curry leaves

Method:
• Soak the tamarind in water for an hour. Extract the pulp and keep it aside • Grind coconut and turmeric powder with enough water to a fine paste.
• Add green chillies, chilli powder, ginger, salt, tamarind pulp to the coconut paste and mix well.
• Heat Oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds. When they splutter add onions and curry leaves.
• When the onions turn light brown add the coconut paste mixture and leave it to boil.
• Add the fish pieces and cook till the fish is cooked and gravy becomes thick.
• Malabar Fish Curry is ready to serve.
